1 BSDA Quality Assurance

The process to establish quality of the questions assembled for the BSDA certification so far has started. Special attention is being paid to ensure that every question is valid for all BSD flavours, and that no over-representation of any specific flavour is made. Quality assurance is done by a group of subject matter experts (SMEs) that use one or more BSD flavours for many years, with many of them actively contributing to the development of one or more BSD operating systems.

The questions worked on for the BSD certification exam are under an NDA and will not be made public. The topics covered by the exam are made public on the BSD Certification Group website, though.

2 BSDA Beta

There are still some seats available for the May and June beta locations and times. Registration is available at http://beta.bsdcertification.org:8080/bsdsme/registration. The registration announcement is at http://lists.nycbug.org/pipermail/bsdcert/2007-April/001110.html and details regarding what to expect on the beta are available in English (http://www.bsdcertification.org//news/&Item=pr044) and Brazilian Portuguese (http://www.bsdcertification.org//news/&Item=pr046).

3 BSD Certification at Linuxworld Toronto

Dru Lavigne from the BSDCG and Nanoman from GTABUG assisted at the BSD Certification booth at Linuxworld Toronto. The booth was very well attended by over 1000 attendees. Those manning the booth were kept busy both days answering questions regarding *BSD operating systems and BSD certification. Dru has a writeup at http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/unix/bsd/archives/linuxworld-toronto-16086.
