Press Release     English    BSDCG Announcement
BSD Certification Group Inc. Announces PsychometricianJune 28, 2006 -- BSD Certification Group Inc. Names Sandra Dolan as Psychometrician
The BSD Certification Group Inc. is pleased to announce that Sandra Dolan, PH.D., Psychometrician, will be providing the psychometric assessment for the upcoming BSDA exam as well as subsequent psychometric services.
Sandra had this to say about her appointment as BSDCG psychometrician: "I am excited to be working with the BSD Certification Group to further develop their first exam offering, the BSD Associate (BSDA). By utilizing sound psychometric principles and applying testing industry standards defined in the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing (APA/AERA/NCME) and by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, the BSDA exam will be especially relevant to the BSD community and will provide a fair and stable benchmark for assessing BSD knowledge and skills."
Dru Lavigne, Acting Chair of the BSD Certification Group notes "that Sandra's professional experience is well matched to the BSD Certification Group's goal of providing valuable and well respected certification exams for administrators of BSD operating systems". Sandra has consulted with organizations in a variety of fields including IT, medicine, finance and the hospitality industry and worked with certification exams from Linux Professional Institute (LPI), American Osteopathic Association's physician certifying boards and the National Restaurant Association's ServSafe program. She earned her graduate degrees from the University of Chicago, with her Masters degree in Research Methodology and Quantitative Psychology and her PhD in Measurement, Evaluation and Statistical Analysis. She has been working in the measurement and evaluation field for over 15 years and has focused on working with certifying examinations in the last ten years, chiefly utilizing Rasch measurement techniques. Working with these certifying groups, Sandra applies current testing theory and develops program policies to improve examinations and gain approval through internal review mechanisms as well as to secure external accreditation through such organizations as NOCA/NCCA.
