BSD Professional

Get Certified!
In order to take an examination, you must first obtain a BSDCG ID. The same ID can then be used to register for any BSD certification exam. There are no pre-requisites to take an examination--in other words, you do not have to be BSDA cer tified in order to take the BSDP examination. Read the "Intended Audience" section for each exam to determine which examination(s) match your skill set.

Intended Audience

The BSDP certification is designed to be an advanced certification for senior system administrators with at least three years of experience on BSD systems.

The successful BSDP candidate is able to demonstrate strong to expert skills in BSD Unix system administration. The successful candidate understands and uses both basic and advanced system administration commands demonstrating proficiency in eleven study domains.

The BSDP exam is both a paper and a hands-on examination. Details about the lab portion of the exam will be listed here once they are confirmed.

The BSDA certification is an entry-level certification on BSD systems administration.
